There’s no doubt about it - the idea of proposing can be daunting, and nerves often run high; however, the proposal itself should be fun, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

Whether it’s in the form of a big grand gesture or an intimate and understated moment, a proposal to your favourite person in the whole world should be meaningful and unique to you both. As we’re feeling the love today, we thought we’d pop together a list of lovely ways you could propose and pop the question. Get ready to fall in love all over again…

Recreate your first date

Let’s get sentimental! One of our absolute favourite proposal ideas is to recreate your first date, or one of your most memorable dates from your time together so far. Revisit the restaurant you met in, the dog walk you took on the beach, or the coffee in the park to reminisce about all the incredible memories you’ve had since. And then, of course, ask whether your partner would like to carry on making these memories forever… Swoon!

Holiday proposal

If you’re both globe trotters and adore travelling, then hop on a plane to a dreamy destination and make your proposal wildly romantic in a different country! A secluded area on the beach with cushions, throws and champagne while the sun is setting will channel all the romance. Or maybe a trip to Venice on a gondola is more your style, while soaking up the sights and committing to forever. If you’re a hiking couple, you could take a trip up to the top of a mountain to see the sun rise - a simple yet beautiful way to ask the love of your life to marry you. Whatever you choose to do, keep the ring in your hand luggage, you wouldn’t want that to go missing!

Intimate Proposal

A more private proposal is just as special as an extravagant proposal - a moment that just the two of you will share forever is undeniably special. Take a picnic to one of your favourite places, sip on your favourite tipple and share some strawberries as you talk about the next steps in your love story. Or you could add a touch of luxury to your proposal by booking a hotel suite and contacting a local florist to fill the room with fragrant blooms and candles – the ultimate romance!

Occasion Proposal

What better way to begin the New Year than being engaged to your soul mate?! Counting down to your next adventure, with fireworks in the background... It couldn’t be more iconic! Or maybe you always envisioned a Christmas proposal, surrounded by your family, watching them witness your loved one unwrap a ring by the Christmas tree – cue the celebrations! You could even use your fur babies to help, with a ring around their collar, how could you resist?

Unique Proposal

If you want something that is truly unique, you’ll need to think outside the box! You could hire a hot air balloon as the sun rises and ask that all-important question high in the sky. While we’re on the topic of heights, you could opt for something a little extra by hiring a plane to do the asking for you. Look up into the sky and say yes! If you fancy going all out, you could organise a flash mob, booking dancers and singers to help you pop the question in your favourite place.
