It's great to feature you on the blog! Tell us a bit about the Pickle Shack?
Thanks for having us! Pickle Shack is a Creative Catering and Events company, based just outside Exeter. We spend our time serving lots of lovely food and drink to lots of lovely people at beautiful weddings, parties and celebrations across the South West!
What do you offer to couples as a wedding caterer?
We offer a flexible, comprehensive and creative catering service to our couples. Whether you're after entirely bespoke dishes or classic crowd-pleasers, we're able to recommend the perfect menu for you.
Tell us about your signature style / what makes you stand out from the crowd?
Pickle Shack food is BOLD. We love to combine vibrant colours with brave flavours!

How do you provide couples with inspiration / ideas for their wedding catering?
In the first instance, we like to establish each couples' vision for their big day so that we can ensure that these themes are kept central during the planning process. We tailor our advice, support and ideas to complement your overarching vision, whilst being mindful of ingredient seasonality and exciting food trends.
What does your typical working wedding day look like at Pickle Shack?
Our day always begins with a big pot of coffee as the Pickle Shack team assembles in the kitchen. The morning is spent finishing off any last-minute food preparation and loading the vans with equipment. We typically arrive at the wedding venue a few hours before the canapés are due to be served, and the ovens are fired up. Following the drinks and canapé reception, we're poised for the wedding breakfast. On average, a three course wedding breakfast will take around two hours (plus time for speeches) to serve and after that, there's a big pile of dishes waiting for us! Pickle Shack also have a tempting evening food menu, so lots of our couples book us to provide evening food too. We love seeing the party in full flow in the evening!
What wedding catering trends have you seen this year?
This year has been a year of two-halves in terms of food trends. On one hand there has been a noticeable resurgence of traditional menu formats and classic wedding dishes, such as pre-order menus and dessert trios, whilst on the other, we have seen lots of rebellious fusion-inspired menus this season. It has been fun to work on such a broad range of menus!

What do you love the most about being a part of Pickle Shack?
We are SO lucky to spend our weekends in some of the most glorious venues in the country - surrounded by smiles, laughter, friendship and love. We work with countless talented, creative and inspirational industry professionals (shout out to Natalie Hyland!), and build the most amazing relationships with our fabulous couples. It's impossible to choose one thing that we love the most!
